چکیده

In this paper we present a case study of context aware, on-site information retrieval using a computervision-based interaction on mobile phones with the goal of facilitating information access for urban commuters that use public transport. Our focus is on intuitive touchless interaction using contextual recognition of existing visual objects, such as signs and information plates. Object detection and localization are based on fast matching of local image features represented as Histogrammed Intensity Patches. We show that low-level image features can be learned, organized, and optimized for discrimination between similar, poorly textured object images. The system is integrated with existing software for information retrieval and experiments show that it achieves good performance in real-life situations.

An Intelligent Vision System on a Mobile Manipulator

This article will introduce a robust vision system which was implemented on a mobile manipulator. This robot has to find objects and deliver them to pre specified locations. In the first stage, a method which is named color adjacency method was employed. However, this method needs a large amount of memory and the process is very slow on computers with small memories. Therefore since the previou...

The Association between Access to Public Transportation and Self-Reported Active Commuting

Active commuting provides routine-based regular physical activity which can reduce the risk of chronic diseases. Using public transportation involves some walking or cycling to a transit stop, transfers and a walk to the end location and users of public transportation have been found to accumulate more moderate physical activity than non-users. Understanding how public transportation characteri...

A Novel Model for Bus Stop Location Appropriate for Public Transit Network Design: The Case of Central Business Districts (CBD) of Tehran

In this paper, a novel multi-objective bus stop location model is proposed, which considers not only the coverage of demand and minimization of access time but also the necessities of suitable stops for transit network design phase. Three objective functions are considered including minimizing (I) sum of the total access distance (time), (II) the weighted combination of stops, and (III) the num...
